Glenmarkie Wind Farm Proposal

Vattenfall is in the early stages of exploring a potential wind farm proposal at Glenmarkie in the Scottish Highlands.

The site lies approximately 16km east of the village of Fort Augustus and 8km south-east from the settlement of Whitebridge.

Public Exhibitions

We are holding a series of public exhibitions in November to engage with the community and gather views on the proposal. The exhibitions are being advertised in local newspapers, and a copy of the advert can be viewed  here.  We are also writing out to over 2,000 local households to help raise awareness of the events.

Tuesday 11th November:

  • 3pm - 6pm Laggan Hall, Gergask Avenue, Laggan Bridge, PH20 1AH

Wednesday 12th November:

  • 10am - 1pm Glenmoriston Millenium Hall, Invermoriston, IV63 7YA
  • 3pm - 7pm The Wildside Centre, Whitebridge, IV2 6UN

Thursday 13th November:

  • 10am - 2pm Farr Community Hall, Inverarnie Park, IV2 6AX

The exhibition information will also be available for people to view online on this webpage from Tuesday 11th November – including an online feedback form and details of how to provide feedback during the consultation period. Feedback at this early stage could help shape the design and delivery of the project, so please take the time to share your views.

Scoping Report

In September 2025 we submitted a Scoping Report to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit (ECU) seeking feedback on the proposed scope of environmental site survey work which will help inform the design. The Scoping Report sets out an early design layout, comprising of up to 65 turbines with tip heights of up to 250m.
