Clashindarroch Wind Farm

Clashindarroch is an 18 turbine onshore wind farm in Aberdeenshire.

About the wind farm

Clashindarroch is an 18-turbine wind farm project in Aberdeenshire, and 2025 marks its 10-year anniversary. Over the past decade, the wind farm has not only generated  renewable energy but also created a legacy of community support through its community benefit fund.

We work closely with local communities to ensure we are supporting the area and developing projects that bring lasting benefits for current residents and future generations.

Supporting the Community, 10 years, 10 stories

Since the wind farm began operating, more than £2 million has been invested through the Clashindarroch Community Fund, with over 180 grants awarded to local groups.

From the sustainable regeneration of Glass Hall to the transformation of No. 30 Huntly, from youth development programmes to biodiversity projects, the fund has created ripple effects across Huntly, Strathbogie, Cabrach and Tap O’Noth.

And the story doesn’t stop here. As part of our 10 Years, 10 Stories campaign, we’re celebrating the incredible people, projects, and progress made possible through the fund,  and looking forward to continuing this support for years to come.

Any group or organisation in the local area can apply to the Clashindarroch Wind Farm Fund, which is run by Foundation Scotland on behalf of Vattenfall.
