Dava Way
‘The Dava Way is recognised as one of Scotland’s Great Trails and is one of the country’s finest long-distance walking and off-road cycling routes. It follows the old Highland Railway for 24 miles (38km) between the historic towns of Forres and Grantown-on-Spey.’ The Dava Way website
The Ourack Wind Farm proposal access and site boundary interacts with the Dava Way. Vattenfall aims to work closely with the Dava Way Association to reduce potential impacts on the Dava Way and, where possible, explore opportunities for enhancements. To this end, Vattenfall has outlined the following planned measures:
- Provide parking spaces on the site access road following construction to improve accessibility to the Dava Way.
- Where the access road crosses the Dava Way, design the crossing to facilitate access for all users, including consideration for disabled users and wheelchair access.
- Resurface the section of the Dava Way in the immediate vicinity of the Ourack Wind Farm proposal to an agreed standard following construction.
- Supply grit/gravel at agreed locations on the Dava Way to assist maintenance work following construction.
- Plan a shelter for Dava Way users, subject to consultation with the Dava Way Association and residents.
