A proposed onshore wind farm in Nottinghamshire

About the project

We are in the early stages of exploring the potential for Everton Carr Wind Farm - an onshore wind farm on agricultural land, located to the south-east of Misson village and north of Gringley-on-the-Hill.

We are currently at the scoping stage of project development during which we are developing our approach to early environmental and technical work and beginning our stakeholder engagement. An indicative project timeline can be found below.

No of turbines Up to 16
Maximum height to tip of blade 220 metres
Generation capacity Up to 112 megawatts (MW)
Homes equivalent Enough for the electricity needs of around 100,000 average UK households annually (stats explained)

About the process and current work

As part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process, we are undertaking environmental surveys and technical assessments to help us better understand the site and the surrounding area. We are also engaging with statutory consultees, local authorities, elected representatives and other stakeholders to introduce the proposal and gather early feedback to help identify any potential environmental effects that require further assessment.

As a project with a potential generating capacity of more than 100MW it is classed as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). As the project develops, we will continue to engage with local communities and stakeholders, providing opportunities for people to learn more about the proposal and share their views. This ongoing work will inform future consultation activities and help us refine the project as it moves through the development process.

Working with stakeholders

We want to work with you to understand what is important to the local community. This will help to not only inform our project designs, but to identify areas of interest for our community benefit opportunities. Across all our UK onshore wind projects, we work with communities to develop an approach to community benefit funding that aligns with local needs and interests.
