Edinbane Wind Farm has been in operation since 2010, generating enough electricity annually to meet the equivalent demand of around 34,000 homes.*
Following a recent strategic review, Vattenfall has decided to pause the Repower project. This decision was driven by several factors, including ongoing uncertainty around key issues such as grid connection.
Operation of Edinbane Wind Farm will continue as normal.

Edinbane Wind Farm
During the construction phase, contracts worth around £12 million were awarded to companies in the Highlands and Skye.
The operational wind farm has provided a community fund in the local area, which to date has distributed over £1.3 million.
