Other local benefits

The project is expected to deliver a range of benefits to the local area, including:
plans for biodiversity enhancement on the site, such as habitat creation and management
improved access and recreation opportunities
contracts and employment opportunities for the local supply chain
apprenticeships for the young workforce
an estimated community benefit fund of around £18.4 million over the project’s 35-year life cycle
anticipated business rates of over £1.3 million each year to Moray Council
We are also in dialogue with Buckie Harbour to explore the feasibility of turbine components arriving at Buckie (rather than Inverness), should the harbour be able to accommodate larger vessels in the future.
