Denmark

Denmark is part of the Nordic market, which comprises approximately 19 million people. Vattenfall offers a broad range of energy-related products and services.

Vattenfall has been present on the Danish energy market since 1996 and now sells electricity and energy solutions to energy companies with an existing end customer base in Denmark. In autumn 2004 a comprehensive restructuring of the Danish power market was initiated. Vattenfall has played a key role in this process. Through acquisitions of assets from Elsam and E2 under an agreement with DONG, the Danish Oil and Gas Company, Vattenfall established a significant presence in generation in Denmark in 2006. Vattenfall controls approximately 24 per cent of the Danish power generation capacity. Vattenfall’s generation in Denmark consists of thermal and wind power and is a part of Vattenfall Nordic’s total generation mix. Vattenfall’s sales operation in Denmark is a national leader in its field, offering standard and customised energy solutions and customer support.
