Pen y Cymoedd wind energy project
Project Background
In April 2008 following a tender process run by Forestry Commission Wales on behalf of the Welsh Government, Vattenfall, (then Nuon Renewables) was chosen as the preferred developer to look at developing a wind energy project on an area of goverment land in South Wales.
In May 2012 the 76 turbine Pen y Cymoedd Wind Energy Project was granted development consent by Charles Hendry MP, the Energy Minister at the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
