Ormonde offshore wind farm construction update (Cumbria)

The construction of the Ormonde Offshore Wind Farm is well and truly underway. The pre-piling vessel Buzzard is currently working on the eighteenth pre-piling location. Simultaneously the environmental survey vessel Windcat 22 is conducting marine mammal observations. In addition the diving support vessel Ram is proceeding with diving operations on the pre-piled locations.

When Jacket foundations are installed on top of the pre-piles, navigation lights will be operating during and after construction to ensure the safety of life at sea. (SOLAS) During the construction there are four cardinal buoys marking the outer wind farm perimeter of which two will remain effective when the project has been completed. In addition we have deployed one wave rider buoy that will send metrological data back to shore for research purposes.

In the Port of Barrow work on the Operations and Maintenance building on Belfast berth, Ramsden Dock Road has commenced and the substation platform fit out works are underway on Berth 8.
