This website is about Vattenfall’s proposals to build a new wind farm in Powys, mid Wales.
We are beginning work to develop a proposal for a new wind farm in Powys, mid Wales (approximately 20km west of Welshpool and 5km south west of Llanerfyl), known as Mynydd Lluest y Graig. The project is currently at an early stage, and the first stage will be to scope and explore the important issues for this site.
As the proposed development is for electricity generation of more than 50MW, the wind farm will be classed as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) and we must therefore submit an application for a Development Consent Order (DCO) to the Planning Inspectorate. Click here for more details.
We will be undertaking extensive consultation on our proposals, with communities and stakeholders in 2014, before we launch a formal consultation on our plans in spring 2015.
Thank you for your feedback
Following the public information sessions that were undertaken from 24th – 29th June in communities around the proposed wind farm site, we are currently analysing the feedback we received in order to help us further develop our proposals. If you missed the events, you can download the information displayed and complete a questionnaire here.

Registration with the Planning Inspectorate
Mynydd Lluest y Graig has now been registered with the Planning Inspectorate (PINS), confirming our intention to submit a Development Consent Order for the project in 2016. Over the coming year we will begin engaging with stakeholders and local communities – more information will be available soon.
