Kyle

The Kyle Wind Farm is an onshore project situated in Kyle Forest east of Dalmellington. Local Councils are East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway.

Scottish Ministers turned down the scheme on Friday 24 October 2008 although they have invited a smaller project in the vicinity.

Vattenfall will make best use of issues raised in the past, whilst looking to develop the most appropriate design to reflect the renewables commitment of the Scottish Government.

Vattenfall is attending the SW Scotland Regional Aviation Solution Group to identify radar mitigation. The outcome of this work is likely to inform any future design of a wind farm on Kyle. The Scottish Ministers recognise there is potential for a well designed wind farm in this area.
