Energy for winter sports

Winter and winter sports have a clear relation to Vattenfall´s historical heritage in the North. Since 1994 Vattenfall is a sponsor of the Swedish Ski Association.

Over the years one of the main products, electricity, has contributed positively to the development of the skiing experience in numerous ways: lighting up the dark slopes and trails, creating artificial snow, powering ski lifts to the top of the mountains.

We are proud to say that our new partnership since 2010 with International Ski Federation, FIS, allows us to continue the journey and enhance the experience for winter sport lovers across Europe. In this way we also have the opportunity to be present in the international ski arenas, such as alpine skiing, ski jumping and cross-country skiing. The partnership means that we can create more venues on our markets in Europe.
