Airfield Farm wind project
Airfield Farm is a 3 turbine wind farm proposal, near the village of Poddington, Bedfordshire. In December 2011, a 4 four day planning inquiry was held to consider the project.
Current Status
The project was submitted to the local council for consideration in September 2008. It is currently awaiting determination by the Planning Inspectorate.
Airfield Farm is a well designed wind farm which can make an important contribution to the UK's progress towards a secure, lower carbon energy system.
As well as establishing a community benefit package in line with the Protocol for Community Benefits in England, subject to planning consent, it is a company and project priority that we ensure that our investment brings appropriate benefit and opportunity to the region’s economy, environment and communities.
This commitment has been demonstrated through the development of the Swinford Wind Farm, which is currently in construction. On this project, contracts worth more than £250,000 were awarded to local companies within the first two months of construction, with all onsite Balance of Plant construction works completed by UK contractors.
Subject to planning, we are committed to continuing our work to ensure that the similar project benefits are realised.
